The “Museum Society for Moravian Slovakia and Veselí nad Moravou” established in 1906 was an ancestor of the contemporary museum.
Since 1964 the museum is formally a branch of the District Museum in Hodonín, today the Masaryk Museum in Hodonín. The museum is located at the Bartholomew’s Square and it offers exhibitions reflecting actual events in the town and its environs and also one permanent exhibition “Od Doubravy po Javořinu” dedicated to Veselí and the Veselsko Region. The exhibition is divided into three sections - archaeology, history, and ethnography.
